I’m Cute, You know it… Who’s daughter am I?
President-elect Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama (Mr.s “O” for those that don’t know) whisked their girls off to Sidwell Friends private school on Monday. Malia, 10, in her puffy pink jacket and Sasha, 7, with her pigtails, pink camouflage backpack and turquoise Uglydoll. Malia is in fifth grade at the middle school campus in the District of Columbia, while Sasha is in second grade at the Bethesda, Md., elementary-school campus.
Blogs have already critiqued what every member of the family wears and I hope that these little cuties are going to be able to stand their new celebrity life. I just love Michelle and her style choices and since she’s been crowned The Inspirational Wife, I would like to again share with you again for those the didn’t read my Guide to the Perfect Marriage: which Wife are You? Here’s what Mrs. “O” had to say about being a wife.
Michelle Obama’s Top quote: “People have notions of what a wife’s role should be in this process, and it has been a traditional one of blind adoration. My model is different: I think most real marriages are.”
I think that every mom out there can relate to what it was like on the first day of school. Just trying to maintain a sense of calm and creating a smooth transition can be a challenge. I can only image what it must be like for the little Obama girls and so, I salute Barack and Michelle Obama for making “normal” look so chic.
Bet U didn’t Know that:
- All students also are required to participate in the Quaker tradition of the weekly “Meeting for Worship,” a period of quiet reflection and discussion.
- Some of the school’s Quaker traditions might require getting used to. There are periods of silence observed at the start of the day, and at the start of lunch. “Each school day begins with silence as students gather by homerooms, and meals and assemblies incorporate silence as we gather,” the school’s handbook says.

So it was them coming home from school Monday when they blocked off all the streets. I work like in the middle of everything. So our streets are constantly blocked off. It’s very exciting, except for when I’m hungry and I can’t walked down the next block to get my food that I just ordered over the phone or online. I just love the Obamas. I know they may have their ups and downs, but they look like what marriages are missing today.
