Cocktail Coverage of the We Are One Concert in DC

Oh Holly Hell People… its like 9 degrees here in Washington DC!
And yet, even though its freezing cold, and the crowds are packed tighter than my non-mom, pre-pregnancy jeans, my heart is warm and filled with excitement and joy. My cup runneth over! I’ve been so busy over the weekend attending events, site seeing and standing for hours at the “We are One” concert held at the National Mall (Lincoln Memorial) on Sunday, January 18, 2009.
I know that you’ve already seen the pics of the celebrity performances but where else are you going to see what it felt like to be apart of the crowd. The HBO show didn’t do it justice as most of us that were there agreed, the concert was like the 20th century version of Woodstock. This is truly where the action was and I’ve got the vidoe here:
I met college students (thanks for the card games), photographers from major newspapers (rock on Sean and Leslie), moms who embraced me with love and I even met a mermaid (love yah Blu) who swam all the way from Martha’s Vineyard. Emitting frosty air, we were out there in the cold, excited by the feeling of being involved in making a little history. I hope that you will enjoy the video of the inaugural concert at the national mall as I’m new to editing videos with my Flip Camera.
I welcome the new administration and despite our political differences, let us all as moms, wives, partners, friends, and women, join together and become Architects of Change!

Loving it truly loving it…I am so so so proud of you. Thanks for the video I enjoyed seeing it from the croweds view and not from CNN…plus I noticed that you fit a little moment of fashion in-between the historic moment…hillarious.
Thank you for doing this, it really made me feel a part of it. I felt the cold, the pride, the excitment. Loved it. Congratulations America
Hey girl..great stuff! I am so exhausted after this weekend of festivities!! Had a great time at the Heroes Ball last night everyone seemed to be in great spirits! Your video is funny… I have a FLIP too.. did you download different software to edit??
I can’t believe you went out there, but I’m glad you did. I loved how you sneak some fashion in there.
For some reason I am unable to view your video but the pictures look great. What a wonderful experience, there are moments when I wish I was there but then I remember the cold. And am perfectly happy with my decision to watch all of the festivities from the comfort of home.
