The Power of Slow – Another wonderful Interview

“Self preservation is nature’s first law” Those were the words that my grandfather spoke on his death bed as he battled a long and painful fight with throat cancer.

Have you ever felt the need to simply get away from it all?

This is a question that has been on my mind for such a long time as I too struggled from depression, anxiety and simply doing too much and having nothing left over to do for myself. Whether you are a work at home mom (wahm), stay at home mom (sahm), single mom or parent, we all can learn a lesson or two about slowing down, finding balance and pampering out spirit.

One of my most popular articles was entitled, “Can a Mom have a break? Some days I want to Run Away“, and mothers finally expressed their feelings of stress, depression, frustration, and offered their opinion on how they try to find their way through it all.

I’ve recently had the great pleasure of meeting Christine Louise Hohlbaum, author, PR consultant, columnist, public speaker, and mother.  Her blog is called ThePowerofSlow and DiaryOfaMother. Our friendship has truly grown lately as she finally clarified what a trackback was (LMAO) in terms I could understand (how-to instruction of course).

Christine describes herself as a “recovering speedaholic who recognized the power of slow while one day eating ice cream with her then three-year-old daughter. Life is in the details.”

Hell yes mommy, I couldn’t agree with you more. Since we have so much in common, Christine decided to interview ME on December 12, 2008, and below is the title and link to the interview. Go, read and find out What strategies I have developed to remind myself about the importance of balance?

There are other wonderful, shocking, uplifting interviews there but for mine, simply click on the link below and look for:

“When You Teeter, Go to the Cocktail Cafe”

Question: How do you manage to find balance?
