Meet Dee Dee Cocheta (photographed in the middle along side Debra Lee and Jeanine Liburd of BET Networks). She’s a wife, mother and entrepreneur making her presence felt in the entertainment, marketing and pr industry. After 3 years in marketing and radio, Dee Dee recognized her own guerrilla marketing entrepreneurial spirit and this cocktail mommy started ABC Associates Entertainment Firm in Atlanta, GA.

how do you honor your sense of style?My sense of style is mixing old with new. So I would say honoring my past but looking to the future – like the African proverb you can’t go forward without knowing your past. I am Native American raised always to respect everything around me, so that spirit of love resides in me and glows outwardly. So I mix old with new in my appearance. I have always been a ‘thrift store’ consignment shop queen being raised with no money, I had to start buying my own clothes by the time I was 11 (baby sitting money). I learned my lesson when I went to Nordstrom’s and bought about two outfits and one pair of shoes and that was it…I didn’t have any other new clothes. So I went to a consignment shop and found a Louis Vuitton bag, leather gloves, beautiful broches and a cashmere sweater (please remember this was the 80’s) From that point on, I honor the old styles with the new trends and it seems to work for me because I always get asked me where I got my purse, my blouse, etc. I have to tell them the truth – It’s a one of kind, very rare to find – LOLHow many children do you have?
I have SEVEN – 6 boys and one girl. Ages 18, 17, 13, 10 – is my girl, 9, 8 & 5What’s your favorite cocktail?
Because I don’t drink anymore (lol – i sipped on things before I was of legal age:-) I mix cranberry juice with orange juice when I am in the clubs. Otherwise I love making fruity smoothies.

I just want to know – how does she do it? Seven? Seven? I am barely making it with one. I guess you get used to it but I don’t know. Kudos to her! I am sure that she has a wonderful husband that helps her manage it all.
I love Dee Dee. She is soo dedicated to this industry and has put in alot time and effort to succeed and see change. I wish I had the drive and passion that she possess and perseverance. I am working at it. How she does it wearing so many hats, mother, wife, friend, and mentor and still does phenomenal work?

Married for twenty years and doesn’t look a day over thirty – I love it! I would like to read more about how she balances nurturing a family, husband included, and advancing her career. I assume the older children are a big help with the younger ones but still . . . she’s been at it for some time, what about when the children were younger? Kudos to this woman. She is certainly an inspiration!

Yes a mom can have it all once she puts her mind to it and work hard to achieve it she can do anything.
