Keyshia Cole says this time around its “A Different Me”

It took Mary J. Blige 7 albums, and 13 years to make a “Breakthrough.”

Now, I don’t know if this is a good or bad thing, but 3 years ago I was completely mesmerized by Keyshia Cole. I mean here she was, this feisty young lady, whose raspy voice and subject matters touched my heart not because I was a mother but because I was a woman who understood and could relate to her life experiences.

Fast forward 3 year later, and MAN oh MAN has she blossomed into a determined and focused woman. I am never one who watches reality tv as many of my readers but Keyshia Cole’s reality show on BET is shocking to say the least. But what I have come to appreciate is the honesty and insight to her life, her mother’s journey with drug abuse, and how another woman (who she calls “mom”) stepped in and saved her from the sins of her birth mother’s past.

Keyshia Cole ain’t the woman she used to be and for this reason, she has officially been downloaded on my iPod.

I don’t know about you, but I remember the old Keyshia Cole sound. Remember “Love,” “I Remember,” and “Heaven Sent”? was a little skeptical about her new album “A Different Me.” However, that is impossible deny that Keyshia is a New woman, new music, and a new voice. A Different Me is worth the purchase. And I celebrate and welcome your change Keyshia. Check out Keyshia Cole pictures below:

Lets get down to the root of my new obsession with Keyshia?

Love love love the hair cut
and totally thinking about ‘the cut’ to ring in 2009. So sleek, grown and sexy.

You can listen to some of her music within this article by “Clicking on the Song Title”. If you are looking to cry then this is not the album.  However, if you dare to live, life, deliciously…then Keyshia Cole’s “A Different Me” makes a great stocking stuffer or addition to your music collection. With titles like “Please Don’t stop,”  “Where This Love Could End Up,” “Brand New,” “Trust,” featuring Monica (there you go, a Celebrity Mom for you)… it will make you want to get up and dance like U actually can…. heee heee!

You know, I haven’t really bought music in a good while. I listen to music on the radio and go about my business. I’m going to have to get back into the music side of me.

I DL’d Key’s album last night, and can’t wait to listen to it once I get home and can crank up my music the way I wanna…

Funny thing is, I’ve never ever watched not nary an episode of her show. I dunno, her mother reminds me too much of my own, and I still got issues with that (pray my strength).

But I’ve also become something of a fan of hers due to what I’ve seen as an evolution in her style and maturity.

I was skeptical about Keyshia Cole’s music. On a whim, I bought the new album. It’s better than I expected.
