Holiday Fashion Must-Haves for the Naughty Mommy
“He’s making a list, and checking it twice. But what about the mom who hasn’t been so nice. Forgive me for when I needed silence in the car until after I had my coffee. And what about the time I snuck out the house to get a mani/pedi. For all the moms out there who do not have the nerve, my cocktail elves have found some gifts that you and I deserve”
I’ve tried my best to stomach all those holiday gift guides out there for moms and nearly pulled every last bit of perm out of my head. I mean do they even consider that fact that cooking utensils, blenders, and laundry detergent might not be on my list?
What about the mommy that may be pregnant who needs a little “I’m too sexy for this belly” maternity fashion. Or the perfect gift selection for all those out there that think they should buy what we “need” instead of what we “want”.
So as a wife, mother and Olympic shopper, I thought about what I wanted for the holidays and other moms who share in my dilemma. So here is the official Hot Mom’s Holiday Gift Guide just for my lovely, crazy, sexy, cocktail mommies. Fashion for moms should be fun. Ready, set, lets go…
1.)Fashion for Moms who Lounge – For all the mom bloggers, SAHMs, WAHMs, that need comfort, style, and affordability this year, these awesome outfits from Old Navy Lounge Gear can be worn at home or out shopping, etc.
2.)Holiday Must-Haves for Plus Size Moms – This was an earlier posting covering Fashion for the Thick Misses, so check it out. There you will find some of the hottest jeans, shoes, accessories and fashions for moms with curves.
3.)Fashion for Pregnant Women – I can’t tell you how much I loved being pregnant and you can still look sexy, trendy and stylish while getting large beyond reason. In the meantime there are some really great boutiques that celebrate this time and so here are my favorite websites offering maternity fashion for pregnant women: Old Navy Maternity, Gap Maternity, Nordstrom Maternity, Isabella Oliver, Babystyle. Ann Taylor Loft also has come out with a maternity line that is worth checking out (esp. their belly panel pants). Maternity Fashions Rock! And don’t forget Liz Lange’s Target line where you can find some cheap basics and occasionally, a cute addition to your pregnant goddess wardrobe. Also, celebrities love ShopRapunzels.com because not only do the offer Citizens of Humanity Jeans (oh yeah) but they also have offer Citizens of Humanity Maternity.
4.)Santa Buy me a Handbag- Now I know that moms typically like to find a good deal. Love shopping on a budget and who doesn’t love a sale right? Well, let me just say for the record that a good, quality handbag costs money, moolah, big bucks. So, don’t be cheap and invest in a great handbag that will serve you for years and years to come (or at least when another, better, cuter one comes out). I am dying to have an Aaneta Muddy Brown Handbag. Hollywood elites like Kate Moss and Lindsay Lohan were seen with these purses and guess what else? Ana & Valeria (mother and daughter purse designers) designed these bags so I’m sold. You can’t ever go wrong with a signature Coach STRIPE PATENT ZIP SATCHEL but you’ve gotta check out Joe’s Jean Celine’s Hobo Bag from Dillards and Kenneth Cole’s signature Black Clutch bag.
So, what’s a Busy Dad want for Christmas you ask?
Because Im a married chic, my husband is always at the top of my list when it comes to gifts and because he
is a Stay at Home Father (SAHF) or Shit Ass Ho F*cking Bad Ass (both he does quite well), I’ve commissioned another hottie daddy to give me his take on what ‘they’ really want for the holidays. My new blogger buddy and twitter partner (@BusyDad) in crime Jim from The Busy Dad Blog has offered his tips on what to get your hubby for the holidays. Yes, I know exactly what you’re thinking, “DAMN He’s Hot“. Sorry ladies, he’s happily married… Yah Nasties!
Jim writes:
I am so not qualified to write for any site that incorporates the word “fashion” in any prominent way. But today is my lucky day, because Rhea needs a guy’s opinion on cool gifts. I’m a guy and I like gifts. Especially cool ones. Totally up my alley:
1)Event Tickets: Tickets to concerts or sporting events are a sure win. Every man has either a favorite sports team or band – and you’ve probably heard about how good they are to the point of wanting to shoot yourself (or more likely, him). Buy him a pair of tickets and send him off with his buddy for an evening. Complete that with a giftcard to Hooters and he might even compliment you the next time you get a haircut.
2)Collectibles: First let’s get that image of the rosy-cheeked shorts-wearing porcelain boy fishing out of your head. And anything made of crystal. We’re talking real paraphernalia – from your guy’s favorite movie or TV show. Whether it’s a replica of Boba Fett’s jet pack, a numbered film cell from that scene where Al Pacino says “say heeelloo to mah little fren!” or a Dukes of Hazzard lunchbox, if it’s the real deal, he will display it proudly on or over the mantel. Maybe I shouldn’t have added that last part…
3)Expensive Booze: An expensive bottle of Scotch or Cognac is a bragging piece. Every guy has his daily drinker. For me, it’s a bottle of Jack Daniels. Anything more expensive than that and I feel guilty. I’m thinking I can either buy this numbered bottle of single malt, or I can clothe my kid for the winter. A good man, therefore, finds it hard in his daily life to justify laying down that kind of cash for 750 ml of beverage. But a good man deserves it. So lay down that cash, give him that pleasure, and save him the guilt.
4) Things That Cut: A shiny knife makes me woozy in a good way. If your man likes to cook, visit a cutlery shop and ask them to recommend a superior chef’s knife. You’ll surely get a few nice home made dinners out of it as a bonus (hope you like julienned things). If he’s an outdoorsy guy, or likes to play one at home, a hefty hunting knife will evoke “aw, honey you really care! I always hear other men complaining that their wives never give them knives anymore. Not me!”
Join me next week or you call chat with me on twitter @thecocktailcafe when I will unveil yet another set of awesome gifts and gadgets for busy moms (and hot dads) to enjoy. If you are a designer, mom blogger, and/or business owner with styles that compliment us mommies give me a shout and Get Noticed or email me directly at thecocktailcafe [at] gmail [.] com, Why should the kids have all the fun?

Jim lies. All he wants is chocolate and the new Clay Aiken cd. It’s true.
I can attest to a pair of tickets being a great idea. That’s not to say that Jim does not want his Clay Aiken CD (or DVD, if you want to spend the extra $$), but he probably wants to hear it on his way to a concert, too.
Hey girl,
Excellent. I just picked up a few ideas for my brother and hubby.
Thanks for the hard work in keeping us informed.
Off to another endeavor,
Danie

The Cocktail Cafe provides a mix of mom talk with a splash of style. Recognizing there were few resources for moms that address "their" needs, Rhea took her interest in fashion, family and writing to create an online community of sassy, stylish moms looking to find balance, happiness, and little fun along the way. Cocktail moms everywhere log onto The Cocktail Cafe for its fresh and unique take on parenting, fashion for moms, news and reviews of the hottest boutiques and mom bloggers.
Creating this site came out of her own personal experience, struggles and victories as a stay-at-home mom with three little ones. I love giving my unsolicited opinions and finding resources for the entire family. My mission has been to help every mom "celebrate the woman behind marriage, motherhood, and business".
