Events: Mommy Mixers Babysitter’s Club
On an ordinary evening at an upscale boutique in Washington, DC, the most coveted item is not jewelry or designer clothing but a baby-blue, three-ring binder. Frazzled moms, rejoice. Founded in Austin, Texas in 2003, MommyMixer® connects busy families in need of part-time babysitting with high-quality college students is the hot new service that connects college students looking for fun babysitting jobs with busy families that need occasional help. All this with a dash of get-to-know-ya, shopping and goodies! There’s no better way to get hooked up with the babysitter of your dreams!
Good sitters are tough to find. Neighborhood kids lack experience, and nanny-locater services are expensive, time-consuming, and wrong for families that wanted only an occasional night off. The shortage of quality sitters revealed an opportunity for Amy Sullivan Cooper, founder of Mommy Mixer. After a brief stint in brand advertising with Dell Computer, she decided to do something about it.
