05_Flatbed_2 - APRILFormer fashion stylist Mandi Norwood and now author of “Michelle Style: Celebrating the First Lady of Fashion Michelle Obamas Style: Celebrating the First Lady of Fashion” will be released on May 5, 2009 and I can’t wait to pick it up. I don’t know of a mommy that doesn’t love Michelle Obama, her grace, sophistication, beauty, and style. It all started at  the Inauguration After Party at The Cocktail Cafe Show as I celebrated this historic event alongside my Cocktail Mom Squad (VIP membership access to “the motherhip for all moms to gather, sip and socialize”).

No1 Inspirational wife: Michelle Obama
Top quote: “People have notions of what a wife’s role should be in this process, and it has been a traditional one of blind adoration. My model is different: I think most real marriages are.”

Mandi NorwoodThe author Mandi Norwood, described as the former editor-in-chief of several titles (Cosmopolitan UK, Mademoiselle, Shop, Etc), says the book promises to, “[Look at] her journey to the White House through the filter of her style.

Who can forget the White House Black Market (designed by Donna Ricco) she wore on The View, or the awesome black and red dress worn at President Obama’s acceptance speach from the Narciso Rodriguez collection. It was one of the most critically acclaimed of New York Fashion Week.

Here’s to you Lady O and your fabulous and eternally chic sense of style and her stylish dream team. Her pencil skirts, button down cartigans, signature big black belts, and JCrew outfits, makes a mom feel like
