Cocktail Radio: Its Vagina Monologues with Soul
I’ll never forget when I started the conversation on Twitter in February about celebrating V-Day (Vagina Day) instead of Valentine’s Day. We all know the power of the he all mighty vagina and who better then yours truly to start the conversation amongst my highly opinionated followers, readers, and listeners right?
Join me tomorrow night at 9:00pm eastern standard time at The Cocktail Cafe Radio Show as I sit and chat with some of the hottest women in showbiz. Meet Yetta Young, executive producer and author/writer Sharon McGhee from Pocketbook Monologues.
Inspired by Sheryl Lee Ralph’s, Sometimes I Cry and following the blueprint for the Vagina Monologues established by Eve Ensler, Sharon McGhee set out to tell a collection of stories from women of color that reveals their heartfelt emotions about intimacy. Pocketbook Monologues has started a movement with a mission of empowering and entertaining women of color about HIV/Aids.
With and awesome African American celebrity cast version of The Vagina Monologues, it is a fundraising effort benefiting organizations against violence against women and children as well as HIV/AIDS and includes Essence Atkins, Ella Joyce, Taj Johnson George of the R&B Singing Group SWV & Survivor: Tocantin, London “Deelishis” Charles “Flavor of Love: Season 2 winner”, comedian Queen Aishah & many others.
