Being Pregnant and Taking a Compliment Isn’t always easy.
What’s a MILF and is Pregnancy Sexy?
Since getting into the social network arena, I’ve had more compliments on my body when I was pregnant from men and women then ever before. And even though my babies are walking and talking, I actually NEVER felt beautiful or sexy. So whenever someone gave me a compliment, I used to accept it with a grain of salt.
And just when I thought I was the only mom who felt this way, Zoe Pawlak from Loaded Bow blog sent me this awesome article that made me smile. Zoe just had her second baby and she reminded me of exactly how I felt with my second pregnancy. And after speaking with a few of my male buddies (the hubby included), I learned that a MILF is a Mom I’d Like to F*ck…. LMAO. I love it! ~ Im so MILF-y its dangerous!
Here’s what Zoe writes:
I had to get my car battery jumped the other day while picking up some paintings. I had only left the hazards on and this indicated that it is high time to actually install that battery we had bought, but kept in the trunk. A kind, quiet, attractive 50-ish man with a big truck helped me and when he was leaving said “You look beautiful, I just think pregnant women are so sexy.” I was speechless. “Thanks”, I replied since I have been taught to receive a compliment and I headed home.
I have had many reactions to negative comments like “You’re HUGE!” or “Oh MY GOSH!!! Are you having TWINS??!!?” and sensitivities to my generally ample self esteem during both pregnancies.
I even took a compliment from my two year old the other day when we were talking about daddy, she said she didn’t like daddy’s boobs cuz they are…’hairy?’ I suggested. She thought about it and then said, ‘no…short’. She mused about this and then added that she liked mine better because they are ‘nicer.’ She probably likes them better since she sucked the life out of them. I really wanted to tell her, “Oh, you like them now, you should have seen them before you came along. They were really great then!” But hey, I will take what I can get at this point and anything that one ups my husband (especially after the ‘cheeseburger comment’) is welcomed by my standards.
Let’s be real; what standards? If I’ll take a ‘You’re sexy.’ from a stranger when before I used to shoot whistling construction workers daggers from my eyes; truly times have changed for me and my body.
Here’s the only pregnancy picture that I could find for this article that didn’t make me want to gag:

What’s your funniest pregnancy story?

You know what, I love to see pregnant women. I think pregnancy is such a beautiful part of life. I remember when I was pregnant, everyone wanted me to buy big clothes and flowery stuff, yack!!!! Pregnancy is wonderful and I love the silhouette of a pregnant women. I bought close fitting sweaters and shirts that showed off my belly.
As far as a funny story. One day I was on my way to work and while walking to the bus stop I saw the bus pull of. I just started to cry. I didn’t know what to do. I walked my way up both hills back to my apartment and sat in the bathroom and cried. My husband heard me and asked me what’s wrong. I told him I looked horrible. My hair is a mess, my feet hurt, and I can no longer see down there to shave. He left me in the bathroom so he can go laugh in the other room. My birthday was two weeks later. He got my eyebrows done, my hair done, and bought me some new sneakers. My friend was having a spa party and he paid for me to get my nails and toes done as well and bough me some clothes. It was the best time for me and from that point on I felt like the sexiest pregnant women in the world.
I regret not enjoying my pregnancy more. I found myself wanting my hubby to share in the physical aspect of it all (however impossible) and longed for conversation outside baby registries and delivery horror stories. I felt violated by people reaching for my tummy without asking and resented those who teased that I’d permanently lose my figure (nah nah nah nah nah!)
There are so many high points: Folks will stand up to give you a seat on the train/bus. You get to travel any and everywhere with your little bundle. When else will you two be as close? Oh, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED my breasts – may they rest in peace.
Don’t quite know how I feel about being called a MILF though…
Compliments? I did receive one. I was at the gas station and a gentleman was babbling about something. I remember thinking, “Me? He’s attracted to me?” and blushing to myself. Just then I farted. Came out of no where like my husband has signaled for it to happen from across town. I was so embarrassed. Throwing the money for the snacks I had on the counter, I ran out of the station quick, fast and in a hurry, refusing to wait on my change from the attendant.
I didn’t even get his name.
I loved the way I looked when I was pregnant, I was glowing and got so many compliments and loved it. At times I must say I was disgusted, because of the explicit comments from men I didnt know including the ones I did know about being a “MILF”. I was disgusted at the thought of being a “MILF” to other men besides my husband. Even though I loved the look I would want to go back down that lane again with the morning sickness and everything else that comes with pregnancy.
Lol, Rochelle your story is very funny. I like the “RIP” tribute to your breast. The farting at the gas station is hillarious.
Correction * Even though I loved the look I wouldnt wnat to go back down that lane again with the morning sickness and everything else that comes with pregnancy.
I don’t have a funny pregnancy story to share, both my pregnancies were pretty standard, but OMG I just had to say that Rochelle’s gas station “gas” story had me rolling on the floor for about 3 minutes! I do remember those sudden pregnancy explosions. Hilarious!
I just don’t know how to top Rochelle’s gas station story either. My cheeks hurt so bad right now.
I do agree too that my breasts were freakin awesome!
Let’s keep sharing mommies. It truly is the year of the MILF… Lol
WELL THEN MILF IM AH THROW PLENTY SALT INTO YOUR CUP AND SAY YAH SEXY SEXY SEXY SEXY AND PHAT= PRETTY HOT AND TEMPTING! YAH BABY YOU STILL GOT IT AND YOU DID GET IT THAT’S WHY YOUR PREGNANT NOW… LOL
Well, that Rampaage43 message was unnecessarily disgusting and riddled with spelling errors and poor grammar … forget the fact that he was yelling it.
ANYWAY, those are some beautiful pregnancy pictures. I, myself, haven’t been pregnant yet, but I would really like to have a kid soon; my husband is a little scared, and wants to keep being “irresponsible,” but I’m eagerly awaiting the day he says, “Let’s have a baby.”
I love the way pregnant women look. My sister has had three children, and all three times she was huge and had big babies. Add that to the fact that she is tiny and you have a tummy of pretty intense proportions.
Ignore the doofus who commented above me and know that you’re beautiful. Ignore the MILF and keep your happy on.
great post. I would like to ask if you tried buying medicine without prescription when you were preggy?
A truly helpful website, thanks!
